Poronui, Central North Island
I’ve been reminiscing over magic days & adventures I’ve had the good fortune to experience in this beautiful country of ours! Maddi & Ted’s wedding was one of those special days where I’m reminded of how lucky we are to have all this goodness on our doorstep – and just how precious our ability to explore it really is. It was an unbelievably romantic day held at Porunui, right in the heart of the Central Plateau. They had chosen an intimate gathering of family & friends, sharing their vows in the most extraordinary natural setting. Springtime here is so pretty as winter eases and we start to see the colour returning to the region. Poronui boasts a mighty landscape stretching across thousands of private acres beneath the Kaimanawa Ranges, it’s unreal! Heli-access got us up into the ranges for a quiet moment alone while shooting some stunning hilltop images – an experience I can’t recommend enough if you have the chance. I’ve lived in and photographed these parts for over half my life now, and hands down this has to be one of my most favourite places.
I’m missing the laughter & fun I get to share on these days and the human connection that so warms my heart! I can’t wait to be back out there with all the sweet couples I get to meet – for many more adventures, capturing those heart thumping moments and of course celebrating love!
